Somewhere – poem

Somewhere someone is raging
Someone is cheering out loud
But as long as that someone is not us
We, for them aren’t proud

If victory is achieved
But if victory is not ours
We still won’t go to the ones who won
To give them flowers

If someone is hurting
But is unknown
We just walk away, heads held high
And don’t heed the pain-filled moans

Once the game is over
Once we win
We don’t acknowledge the others
We think of them as in the bin

If we have fallen
And someone offers a hand
We glance away
Thinking we are too grand

When will we realize
That pride has to let go
To help and to heed help
Whether love, enemy, friend or foe.

    Absolutely on dot…
Human being has to let go his/her pride or ego to make this world a better place to live
